Today is the last day of our adventure. All of it will be spent going the long distance home. Once we pass east of Denver, it will be all flat prarie which has a special kind of beauty, but there are boring stretches where you have to struggle to stay awake.

Something curious here… I didn't believe it when I saw it, but when I examine maps further, it is true. You do drive directly through what looks like an airport. It is old Denver Stapleton, which is no longer an airport as it is replaced by the new Denver International Airport.

The mysterious blinking red lights all over the horizon here in Kansas are mysterious because they all blink in sync, which is a really cool effect at night and kind of spooky. They are the lights on the wind turbines for generating electricity, and they must use some sort of precise timing based probably on the atomic clock.
